I've had the nagging feeling lately that I need to start using natural products for my hair and body. Its not from one specific message or another, but maybe subtle hints here and there. I tried an aluminum-free deodorant awhile ago from Adidas, but it never worked and I pretty much assumed that natural deodorants wouldn't work either. I spent a good deal of the day yesterday writing and learning adobe indesign. I took a break to go to the gym, which I have to say is a really nice way to refocus and re-energize myself. Sometimes around 4ish I start feeling like I need a nap and an energy boost, its hard to imagine how exercise can make a weary soul more energized, but its true: the more energy you give, the more you get.

Let's be honest, I would have bought this book for the cover alone. I finally got a copy of Apples for Jam: A colorful cookbook, by Tessa Kiros and it is absolutely beautiful (and lovely, and thoughtful, and nostalgic.) I had a little surge of creativity this morning while everyone was asleep and decided to put one of my doilies to use. I thought it would bring new life to a plain (and very soft) gray sweater I had hanging in my closet. I used a pale green thread for the embroidery. Last weekend I went out to all of the 99 cent stores on 5th Ave. There are tons of them and I only ended up at 5 or 6 before I had to stop. I picked up some shelving paper (contact paper-yes, i know) that was fashioned to look like wood grain. I have some left over that will probably end up in a future project, but the bulk of it went here: I actually think it looks pretty neat!
